Congratulations on your life! You’ve got it all figured out - too bad it’s all a lie. Approaching her late 40’s, Jennifer shrugs off the voice in her head as it taunts her with the cold, hard truth.
Decades earlier, while blossoming into a young woman, Jennifer becomes curious and fascinated with her body and its sensual responses, but her church youth leaders frown on sexual exploration. Wanting to be a worthy daughter of God, Jennifer works hard to squash her desires, but her failure to do so leads to feelings of guilt, shame, and self-loathing.
Convinced that her Mormon Prince will end her cycle of sexual shame, Jennifer sets out on a rule-laden path, focusing more on “the hunt” than on herself, getting stuck in a revolving-door romance novel with a scattershot plot. At age 46, as her world crumbles around her, can Jennifer continue to navigate a life in the throes of a high-demand purity culture, or will she find another way to discover her own happily ever after?
Jennifer Joy Wilson is a singer/songwriter, author of Good Mormon Girl, and lifelong creative who has been writing poetry and stories since she was eight years old. During her active Mormon years (1999 to 2010), she sold thousands of her Sing the Scriptures Seminary Mastery CDs worldwide and became a favorite among many seminary teachers.
Today, Jennifer's inspirational songs reach listeners across serveral states, but her deepest work comes through her memoir — a story of faith, loss, and healing that explores how even "good girls" can find their voice after silence and shame.

IF YOU'VE FOUND YOUR WAY HERE, I want to thank you. I wrote my story for anyone who has ever felt unworthy, unseen, or trapped in silence. For anyone who has tried to be “good enough” and still felt like they fell short. My book was born out of years of shame and searching. Every page I wrote became a step toward freedom — not the kind that comes from being noticed, but the kind that comes from finally finding peace within yourself.
For a long time, I believed my story only mattered if it reached thousands, or if someone invited me to speak, or if it “took off.” But peace has whispered a gentler truth to me: meaning isn’t measured in numbers — it’s found in honesty, healing, and love.
If my words have found you, I hope they remind you that you’re not alone. You’re not broken. You’re becoming — and that is sacred work. Whatever time I have left, I want it to reflect what truly matters: kindness, courage, and peace. That’s my legacy.
With love and gratitude,
Jennifer Joy Wilson
